Three Terror Convicts Who Escaped From Kamiti Prison Arrested

The three terror convicts who broke away from Kamiti Maximum Prison on Monday morning have been arrested.

its confirmed that the three inmates; Musharaf Abdalla alias Alex Shikanda (34), Joseph Juma Odhiambo (30) and Mohammed Ali Abikar (35) were arrested in Enzio forestin Mwingi East, Kitui County.

The three were arrested following a clue from the public and are believed to have been heading to Somalia.

The convicts are being driven back to Nairobi.

They escaped from the highly protected jail in the wake of dislodging a brick on their cell.They then used blankets, strings and broomsticks to create makeshift ropes that they used to scale two high walls around the correctional facility.

The escape saw several Kamiti jail officers arrested for purportedly aiding the criminals to escape.

On Wednesday, President Kenyatta directed Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i to save no resources in seeking after and catching the Kamiti escapees.

He demanded all State investigative agencies to bring each individual found to have been associated with the jail break to full account.

Wycliffe Ogalo, the Commissioner-General of the Kenya Prisons Service, was also fired regarding the incident, with the Head of State selecting Brigadier (Rtd) John Kibaso Warioba as the new jprisons boss.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations had offered a Ksh.60 million prize to any person who might chip in data that would prompt the convicts’ arrest.
