Student Tortured in School, Teacher Breaks His Finger, Cook Pours Hot Water on His Hand

A family in Makueni County is demanding justice after their 11-year-old son, a grade eight pupil, was allegedly assaulted and humiliated by his teacher and later scalded by a school cook.

According to reports, the ordeal began when the teacher verbally insulted the boy, beat him, and broke his fingers. Despite his injuries, the teacher allegedly forced the child to fetch water from outside the school and deliver it to the kitchen as punishment.

“One of his fingers was broken, but the teacher still made him carry water as if nothing had happened,” a witness recounted.

The boy narrated how he struggled to carry the container using only one hand. Upon reaching the kitchen, the cook asked him to rest briefly before assigning him more chores.

However, when the pupil tried to explain that his hand was swollen and extremely painful, the cook allegedly poured hot water on his injured hand.

“I cried because the pain was unbearable,” the traumatized boy recalled.

The shocking incident has sparked outrage among parents and the wider community, with the victim’s relatives accusing the school of negligence and attempting to downplay the matter.

“Our child has suffered at the hands of people we trusted. The school is silent as if nothing happened. We demand justice,” a family member said.

Authorities are now being urged to take swift action against both the teacher and the cook, with calls for thorough investigations and accountability to ensure the safety of learners.
