Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja has launched a sharp attack against Governor Susan Kihika, accusing her of mismanaging county resources and neglecting residents.
Speaking during a public address, Karanja expressed frustration over what she described as continued suffering among Nakuru residents despite significant county allocations.
“Nakuru tumeteseka, sijui kama Mungu ametudharau hivi,” she said, lamenting the state of affairs in the county.
The senator further alleged that public funds meant for development had been misused, claiming that the governor was channeling resources into private ventures instead of prioritizing service delivery.
“Susan Kihika pesa ya Nakuru ameeka kwa mfuko yote, anajenga mahoteli kubwa kubwa,” Karanja claimed.
She also criticized what she termed as frequent travel by the governor, arguing that leadership requires consistent presence and accountability.
In a strong warning, Karanja vowed to escalate the matter to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for investigations.
“Huyu nitampeleka EACC, kama ni kufungwa afungwe,” she declared.
The remarks have sparked political debate in Nakuru, with supporters and critics weighing in on the allegations. As of now, Governor Kihika has not publicly responded to the claims.
The situation is expected to intensify as political temperatures rise, with calls for transparency and accountability taking center stage in the county’s leadership discourse.
