In a recent interview with SPM Buzz, renowned gospel artist Alex Apoko, widely recognized by his stage name ‘Ringtone’, has voiced his disappointment towards his colleagues Willy Paul and Bahati, suggesting that they have failed to provide support during his times of need.
Expressing his sentiments, Ringtone referred to Willy Paul and Bahati as unreliable friends, citing instances where they allegedly neglected him, particularly when he faced financial difficulties, including a recent incident where his bank accounts were frozen.
“I had to turn to God and seek solace. Perhaps, it was a divine intervention to temporarily block my financial resources so that I don’t forget Him,” Ringtone remarked, insinuating that a governmental body was responsible for the freezing of his accounts.
Recounting his hardships, Ringtone disclosed instances where he faced dire circumstances, even lacking basic necessities like food. He revealed reaching out to Willy Paul during such times, only to be met with unresponsiveness. Conversely, Ringtone claimed that Willy Paul often sought refuge and assistance from him during his own financial struggles, highlighting a perceived disparity in their friendship.
Throughout the interview, Ringtone candidly shared the magnitude of challenges he has confronted, revealing that at one point, he contemplated suicide.
