Photos of a 19-year-old woman who was brutally murdered by her husband in Nairobi’s Huruma Estate have surfaced, as detectives work to uncover the motive behind the gruesome crime that has left the nation in shock.
The victim, identified as Joy Fridah Munani, was killed by her husband, John Kiama Wambua, in their rented home following a domestic dispute.
Wambua was apprehended on Monday, January 20, at approximately 5 a.m. by patrol officers who found him carrying body parts in a backpack. Upon interrogation, he led the police to their residence, where additional body parts were discovered hidden under the bed.
According to court documents, the suspect allegedly admitted to killing his wife after a confrontation sparked by suspicions of infidelity. He reportedly confessed to dismembering her body in an attempt to dispose of the evidence.
Eyewitnesses described the suspect as appearing disturbingly calm as authorities collected the victim’s remains from the crime scene.
Investigations are ongoing as the nation grapples with the horrific details of the case.
