Kenya Teacher left jobless after an imposter used her documents to get a TSC job and take out a KSh 1.8M loan.

A Kenyan woman, Caroline Kubai, a trained teacher from Laikipia, has been left devastated and unemployed after falling victim to a shocking case of identity theft.

Despite official records at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) indicating that “Kairuthi Caroline Kubai” is gainfully employed, the reality on the ground tells a very different story. Caroline, the real owner of the credentials, remains jobless—while an imposter continues to benefit from her hard-earned qualifications.

According to reports, the impersonator not only used Caroline’s academic documents to fraudulently secure a teaching position but also took out a loan amounting to KSh 1.8 million, using the stolen job credentials as financial security.

The incident is believed to have occurred during a time when the education sector was heavily politicized, creating loopholes that criminals exploited. Unfortunately, Caroline became one of the silent victims of these systemic failures.

The case has sparked outrage online, with many calling for urgent investigations and justice for Caroline. Her heartbreaking story serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of identity theft and the need for stricter vetting and monitoring systems within public institutions.
