In a pointed statement, Pastor Ng’ang’a has criticized former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko for what he described as a highly inappropriate public confrontation with his son-in-law. According to the pastor, Sonko’s actions were not only disrespectful but also emotionally harmful to those involved.
Pastor Ng’ang’a noted that even if Sonko was wealthy or influential, he should have handled the matter privately. “You do not hit a young man in public, record it, and shame him in front of your wife,” he said. The pastor warned that such behavior could leave lasting emotional wounds, especially once children witness or learn about it.
He also emphasized that family boundaries must be respected. “Neither the father nor mother of the daughter should enter private spaces such as a bedroom uninvited,” he said, reflecting on what he had observed as overstepping in the situation.
The pastor’s critique highlights broader concerns about respect, privacy, and emotional intelligence in familial relationships, especially when public figures are involved. Public displays of anger, he warns, can have long-term consequences for family members and should be replaced with measured, private dialogue.
Ng’ang’a’s comments serve as a reminder that wealth and influence do not justify actions that may harm relationships or leave a lasting psychological impact on children and spouses.
