Nyamira Man Sets Ablaze A Cow Over A Cup Of Milk.

A farmer in Bomwagamo, Nyamira County was met with a rude shock after his cow was burnt alive over a cup of milk.

A report by The Standard said that area Assistant Chief, Peter Oyange arrested the culprit after he surrendered and confessed to the crime.

The assailant is said to have committed the crime on Tuesday, May 4, after he was denied a cup of milk by the owner.

“We suspect that such incident could be linked to substance abuse among the people. Our fight against the vice is on a higher notch and we hope to bring the situation under control,” Nyamira Country Commissioner, Amos Mariba said.

This comes barely a day after 10 cows of another farmer in Maragua, Murang’a County were stolen at night, Wednesday, May 5.

James Njaramba said that the thieves might have sprayed his house with sleep inducing drugs seeing that they never heard any noise coming from the cow shed.

Theft related cases are on the rise inn Maragua with tthe residents accusing the police of laxity in their job.

Maragua residents have also raised concerns over the rise of narcotic trade in the area saying that the youths have been addicted and since they have no jobs, they prefer stealing to get money for the drugs.

Notably, Interior CS, Fred Matiang’i had visited the area last month, April, where he directed the area police to conduct a crackdown on all the illicit drug peddlers.
