Uhuru Kenyatta’s daughter, Ngina Kenyatta, recently tied the knot with Alex Mwai in an intimate traditional ceremony held in Nairobi. The wedding, attended by Uhuru Kenyatta, his wife Margaret, close family, and a few friends, was a blend of elegance and tradition.
The guest list included Kenya’s rich and famous, such as media personalities Miano Muchiri, Geff Mwai, Jack Vincent, Muigai Kamau, and Ngengi, all showing off vibrant African prints. The couple, however, stole the show in coordinated maroon outfits, with Ngina later switching to an orange maxi short dress paired with silver earrings, while Alex kept it sleek in a white shirt and half coat.
Alex Mwai, son of Sam Mwai—a respected sports consultant and former General Manager of Karen Country Club—is a powerhouse in his own right. Alex holds a BA from Durham University (UK) and an MBA from IE Business School (Spain). He has served on the board of Switch TV Kenya, co-founded Perkera Advisory, and invests in electric boda bodas and tuk-tuks.
Ngina, named after her grandmother Mama Ngina Kenyatta, balances philanthropy and business, serving as director of the Kenyatta Trust and owning the upscale Green Experience restaurant. Known for her private lifestyle, Ngina recently welcomed her first child in Nairobi, with Margaret Kenyatta spotted visiting her at the hospital.
The Kenyatta siblings are no strangers to private celebrations. Ngina’s elder brother, Jomo Kenyatta, married Fiona Acholla Ngobi in 2018 at a private State House ceremony.
Ngina’s wedding offers a rare glimpse into the life of Kenya’s elite—where tradition, elegance, and family legacy seamlessly intertwine.
