Tragedy struck Boya village in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County, as a 25-year-old woman named Christine Auma was discovered murdered in her home last night. Her headless body was found in the family’s kitchen house, surrounded by a pool of blood.
According to the authorities, Auma fell victim to an attack by unknown assailants while she was inside the kitchen preparing ugali for her family. During the incident, her husband and other family members were gathered in the main house, a separate structure within the homestead.
Assistant Chief Milton Kawino, overseeing the area, reported that Auma’s husband became aware of the commotion from the main house and hurried to the kitchen. Upon arrival, he was confronted with the gruesome scene of his wife’s lifeless body lying on the floor, with her head missing.
Chief Kawino stated, “The suspects disappeared into the darkness, and their whereabouts have not yet been established.”
The circumstances surrounding how the perpetrators managed to carry out this horrific act and escape without a trace have raised numerous questions. Ndhiwa Sub-County Police Commander Paul Rioba confirmed the incident and assured the public that the police are actively investigating the matter. He stated, “Our officers are currently working to apprehend the assailants and determine the motive behind the attack.”
Meanwhile, the lifeless body of the victim, Christine Auma, has been transported to the Manyatta Kobodo mortuary, awaiting further investigation and legal procedures. The community is left in shock and mourning as they grapple with the unsettling and unresolved nature of this tragic event.
