Nairoberly -Police recover stolen Vechile that was being dismantled into parts in Nairobi City

On Monday, June 17, 2024, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) recovered a stolen car that was being dismantled along Kamulu-Josna Road in Nairobi.

In a statement, the DCI reported that officers had traced the car, stolen from Umoja, thanks to information received.

During the operation, a suspect was apprehended as the investigation into car thefts in Nairobi continued.

The recovery followed a report by Dennis Macharia at the Buruburu Police Station regarding the theft of his car, registered as KDJ 366C, from the Umoja area.

“Following a report filed at the Buruburu Police Station, OB10/10/6/2024, by Dennis Macharia, stating that his brown Toyota Ractis (registration KDJ 366C) had been stolen from Umoja inner core, officers acted on actionable intelligence,” the DCI reported. “A team from the Nairobi regional DCI headquarters, DCI Buruburu, and Kamulu Police Station proceeded to a residence on Kamulu-Josna Road belonging to Salesio Njagi Kuria, where the stolen vehicle was found in the process of being dismantled.”

Within the same gated compound, four other vehicles in various states of repair were discovered. These included a blue Mazda Demio (KCW 831N), a silver Toyota Ractis (KDB 216T), a silver Suzuki Mira (KDB 308P), and a white Toyota Passo (KCW 346L), which had been repainted from its original blue color.

DCI detectives secured the scene and towed all the vehicles to Buruburu Police Station for further investigation.
