‘My wife Left Me while she was expecting twins, Pastor James Ng’ang’a

Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a is a prominent and highly controversial Kenyan Pentecostal preacher, televangelist, musician, and businessman.

He is the founder and leader of Neno Evangelism Centre, a megachurch headquartered along Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi CBD, with branches across Kenya.

He was born around 1952–1954 in Subukia, Nakuru Count. Ng’ang’a grew up in humble circumstances and had limited formal education, which he attributes to repeated imprisonments disrupting his schooling.

Recently he publicly shared a personal story from his early life about his first partner (whom he referred to as his late wife) abandoning him while she was heavily pregnant with twins.

This happened decades ago, before he became a prominent preacher.According to interviews and sermons (including one around his daughter’s wedding in 2022), they were in a “come-we-stay” relationship (unmarried cohabitation). She left suddenly after going to her parents’ home to collect clothes and never returned, despite being far along in the pregnancy.

Ng’ang’a later got saved, tried to reconcile, but she refused, saying they were never officially married.

The twins were born without his involvement at the time. After their mother passed away years later, the children sought him out and reconnected around 2000.

One of the twins, Elizabeth Nyambura, got married in 2022, and Ng’ang’a has spoken fondly of the reunion during her wedding.

This is not a recent event—it’s part of Ng’ang’a’s testimony about his troubled past before ministry. He is currently married to his second wife, Mercy (Loise) Murugi, since 2012, and they have children together. No reports indicate any recent separation involving twins.
