‘Most of my workmates in quarry paying Ksh 100 daily have engineering degrees’ Disappointed university graduate

university graduates from Bomet have asked the government to assist them with getting dream jobs after their dreams about getting those dream jobs keep on fading away.

They turned to crushing stones under a sweltering heat in a quarry for just KSh 100.

Peter Langat, 24, has a diploma in Health Records holder, Amos Kimutai, 26 holds a Petroleum Chemistry graduate from Kisii University, Duncan diploma in Electrical engineering and John Korir, 31 diploma in Mechanical Engineering narrated their experience of finding formal work to Daily Nation.

“I have tried many companies but I did not get any response from any of them. I thus decided to do this work in the quarry so that I can afford a meal. Our area MP lives around but even though we give out our papers, we do not get any feedback. It is like throwing them in the dustbin” Kimutai said

He added that the majority of his coworkers hold atleast a diploma or a decorated university degree with over 2 years of experience yet no breakthrough in the current market.
