Stivo Simple Boy and Eric Omondi have engaged in a public feud following the rapper’s absence from a scheduled performance at the Sofire Fiesta event in Mombasa on December 28, 2022. Stivo was supposed to share the stage with Nigerian artist Ruger.
However, Stivo did not perform, citing non-payment by the event organizers before going on stage, as claimed by his MIB management. This led to a series of accusations and disputes between Eric Omondi and Stivo’s management.
Eric took to social media to express his frustration, demanding the immediate resignation of Stivo Simple Boy’s management or threatening to have them arrested. He criticized them for bringing Stivo all the way from Nairobi without ensuring his payment, revealing that he only learned about the issue backstage at the last minute. Eric also questioned the need for Stivo to have four managers and accused them of irresponsible spending on food and drinks, totaling 84,000 shillings, while neglecting Stivo’s payment.
In response, Stivo Simple Boy’s talent manager, Loise, and finance manager, Gift Nasimiyu, vehemently refuted Eric Omondi’s accusations during an interview with 2mbiliTV. They explained that the confusion arose from conflicting commitments, as the Sofire event did not confirm Stivo’s performance by failing to provide the necessary deposit and transport funds. Consequently, Stivo chose to prioritize another engagement with Dogo Skills in Mombasa, opting for a road trip experience.
Loise and Gift revealed that they shared a room with Stivo, and refuted Eric’s claim that they mismanaged the situation. They played a recording of a 4 am call from Eric, where he allegedly pressured them to take Stivo to the venue for a performance despite the non-payment issue. Gift accused Eric of attempting to force Stivo onto the stage and criticized him for portraying a false narrative on social media while not addressing the actual payment concerns. The ladies expressed their frustration with Eric’s accusations and defended their handling of the situation.
