Meet the 2-Year Old Math Genius Who Taught Himself How to Speak Japanese

Isaiah Gyamfi, a 2-year-old boy hailing from Ghana, has gained international recognition as a prodigy due to his ability to count in at least four different languages and solve complex mathematical problems.

According to Isaiah’s mother, Jazelle, her son’s extraordinary intelligence began to manifest itself when he was just five months old. She first noticed his affinity for learning while he was watching a video on her phone, and decided to show him a video on Japanese numbers. After repeatedly listening to the video, Isaiah was able to recite the numbers back to back, eventually teaching himself how to count up to 40 in Japanese in less than 24 hours.

Jazelle, an early childhood education teacher based in London, had already begun creating a learning environment for Isaiah when he was just four months old, placing numeracy and literacy flashcards in their living room to teach him through visuals. As months passed, Isaiah continued to surprise his parents by correctly identifying letters and sounding them out using phonics. He also practiced writing numbers and solving mathematical problems on his own.

Isaiah’s love for learning different languages also became evident to Jazelle, who showed him a video in Spanish and provided him with Spanish flashcards. He has since learned to speak several languages including English, Spanish, French, Italian, Twi, Yoruba, and Japanese.

Jazelle has been documenting Isaiah’s learning achievements on an Instagram account dedicated to him. The videos showcase Isaiah’s joy in learning and have amazed many people who have seen them.
