Martha Karua, a prominent senior counsel and former running mate of Raila Odinga in the August 9 General Elections, is known for keeping her personal life private, which includes details about her family. However, it has come to light that Karua has a “son” who works as a reporter for Standard Media Group’s KTN.
George Maringa, who started his career at the media house as an intern in 2017, is not Karua’s biological son. He is the son of Lucy Maringa, whom Karua considers her sister, illustrating a close familial bond despite the lack of a direct blood relationship.
Karua has been a supportive figure in Maringa’s career journey.
Maringa graduated with a degree in Mass Communication from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and is an alumnus of Finland’s Foreign Correspondents’ Programme. Before joining KTN, he gained experience in various roles within the Educational Technology and Learning Resources (ET&LR) Unit at the African Virtual University (AVU).
