Babu Owino takes immense pride in his family, comprising his wife, Faith Muthoni Ongili, and their children. Faith is a distinguished figure in the political landscape, representing Embakasi East as a legislator.
Throughout his journey, Babu has found unwavering support and strength in Faith, from his tenure as the Student Chair at SONU, University of Nairobi, to his current role as an MP in Nairobi County. Their connection began at the University of Nairobi, where Babu and Fridah first crossed paths, and they have shared their lives for a decade now. Fridah Muthoni, who graduated with a second-class upper division in economics from Nairobi University, attended Loreto Girls National School.
This loving couple is now blessed with two daughters, and they proudly call Babu Owino their father.
Shaffie Weru once recalled Babu Owino expressing his admiration for his wife, saying, “God gave me the best wife, a woman without equal, a woman with a man’s head.”
When it comes to political aspirations, Fridah has no intentions of entering the political arena, according to Babu Owino. He respects her individuality and dreams, and he has no desire to limit her opportunities in any way. In his opinion, she possesses the maturity to navigate life independently, and he prays that she will fulfill her calling in accordance with God’s plan.
Babu Owino makes it clear that he is not suggesting or pressuring Fridah to enter politics, but he believes that if she decides to pursue a career in public office, she has the ideal mentor in him. Babu Owino shared this sentiment while narrating their story.
