Paul Mwangangi: Meet the man behind Kitengela International School (KISC).

Kitengela International School is one of the best learning institutions in the Nairobi Metropolitan area. The school offers both the British International Curriculum and the newly introduced Competence Based Curriculum (CBC). In this article, The African Torch takes a look at the owner and highlights everything you need to know about the school.

Establishing the School.

Kitengela International School (KISC) was established on 1st September 2008 by Engineer Paul Mwangangi. He used his little savings from his engineering career and with the help of family members and close friends, he raised money to acquire a piece of land in Kitengela. He began constructing the school and by January 2009, the school received its first intake of students. The school slowly began becoming famous and has since grown to become a world-class institution with branches in different parts of the Nairobi metropolitan region.

Branches of the School.

The School has its main campus in Kitengela just a 30 minutes’ drive from Nairobi Central Business District (CBD). At the main campus, there are three schools including a Mixed Day and Boarding Primary School and Pre-School, the British School and KISC Girls High School. The institution has another Mixed Day Primary School at Great Wall apartments in Syokimau, along Mombasa road. The final branch is a Mixed Day Primary School and Pre-School located in Athi River.

School Leadership and Management.

The School is governed by a Board of Directors led by Engineer Paul Mwangangi who is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Other members of the board include Mr. Calvin Nyachoti who is the Chairman, Dr. Yvonne Katambo as the Executive Director, MS Ruth Titus as the Finance Director and Moses G. Kabeso who serves as the Chief Financial Officer. Other key leaders of the institution include Jessicah Lugado Demesi who is the Principal of KISC Girls High School, Mr. Henry Mucioki Kathangu who is the head of Kitengela International School, Mr. John Ambunya Wanyonyi who is the Headtecher of KISC School Kitengela, Mrs. Elizabeth Weigesa Gati who is the Head teacher of KISC School Athi River and Mr. Eric Omukoto who is the Head teacher of KISC School Syokimau.
