He told Eyewitness News that he was left in excruciating pain after the fly bit him and insisted that he still faced health issues months after the incident.
“I woke up with severe pain in my private area,” he claimed.
He added, “I didn’t know what it was. I reached my hand down to see what was beneath the blanket and encountered more severe pain.”
He claimed to have been bitten approximately three or four times by the small poisonous creature, which he eventually found still trapped in his underwear. He was later treated at a local hospital and filed a report with the hotel staff.
The exact species of fly that allegedly bit the man, and the severity of its venom, remain unclear. However, pictures shared by the victim and his lawyer show the small insect appearing to be about an inch long.
Mr. Farchi has alleged that despite the incident, he was still asked for payment for the room. He is now suing the resort hotel for an undisclosed amount.
“No one staying in Vegas should have to wake up to bedbugs crawling on them and biting them in their private areas,” attorney Brian Virag said.
When reached for comment by a Las Vegas television station, the hotel said that established protocols were followed in the incident.
“The resort has protocols for all incidents and we can confirm they were followed in this instance,” management stated.
The world now awaits to see whether the plaintiff will file a lawsuit against the hotel and how much compensation he will receive if successful
