Jubilee Revival: Agnes Kagure Leads Defectors Back in Operation Rudi Nyumbani

Following the public fall out between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, Jubilee party has been viewed as dead . The last couple of years have seen defections in the large numbers, with many marching to Ruto’s UDA and other smaller parties.

But as campaigns heat up, we are seeing a restoration of the party, with thousands who had left returning to what they term as home.

leading one of these endeavors is Nairobi gubernatorial wannabe Agnes Kagure. Her initiative is named ‘Nairobi’s Operation Rudi Nyumbani’, and is rapidly acquring momentum and turning into a family phrase. Up until this point, the mission has netted many grassroots’ facilitators and MCA aspirants across the region from different parties back to the Jubilee party.

One of Hon. Agnes Kagure promises when she formally sent off her bid on January seventh at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, was to have new life into the Jubilee party in Nairobi. She hailed off her mission by receiving 5,000 officials and members from the Hustler Nation United group, an independent entryway bunch recently affiliated with DP Ruto’s Hustler Nation Movement. That gesture on that day has functioned admirably in drawing in much more defectors to Jubilee party.

Most recently, on Friday 18th March, Kagure led a big group of grassroots’ coordinators from DP Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance, UDA, to the Jubilee headquarters where they were officially received by Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and duly registered as members of the party. The defectors were coordinators allied to UDA aspirant Margaret Wanjiru and their jumping ship back to Jubilee deals a big blow to UDA’s prospects in Nairobi.

Kagure and the party at large believe that this is the surest sign that UDA’s popularity has crested and can only keep losing allies.

While intently focusing on MCA aspirants and mashinani leaders and mobilizers, Kagure is building solid grassroots network for her gubernatorial bid as well as for the ruling party and is establishing the underpinning of solid and
well-spread door to door networks that would come in handy during campaign mobilization and more importantly, getting voters out to cast their votes in favour of the party and its candidates.

Hon Kagure will consistently be received at the Jubilee Party Headquarters, as she leads another group of defectors, generally mobilizers and wannabes who will be welcomed and absorbed into the party.

These endeavors, she trusts, will help her with accomplishing her vision of having a Jubilee-overwhelmed national assembly. From what we have realized in the last 10 years, it is much more easier for a governor to perform with a supportive county assembly.
