President Uhuru Kenyatta seems to have failed to keep a grip on the Mt Kenya region if this incident that occurred in Banana town in Kiambu County on Sunday is anything to pass by.
Banana is a town in the Kiambaa consituency and it is an essential town with regards to winning the forthcoming Kiambaa parliamentary by-election scheduled for July fifteenth, 2021.
On Sunday, Jubilee and United Democratic Alliance (UDA)candidates assembled at the famous town to sell their manifestos ahead of the much awaited d-day.
However,residents chased away Jubilee Candidate, Kariri Njama and revealed to him that the Kiambaa constituency is Deputy President William Ruto’s area and they will elect John Njuguna Wanjiku who is the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate.
Njuguna was permitted to campaign with no hitch and he continued to Kawaida area, where he met famous Kikuyu artist, Muigai Wa Njoroge, who endorsed his bid.
“UDA bado twasonga. Ni Kiambaa” Muigai wrote on his Facebook after the meeting.
