Ugandan President Yoweri has ruled out supporting Deputy President William Ruto in the forthcoming General Election.
Talking yesterday, Museveni reacted to worries that his administration would uphold the DP, given their personal relationship in the past ten years.
Nonetheless, the strongman expressed that his nation would keep an approach on impartialityt in foreign elections, noticing that Uganda had in the past suffered because of external interference by other countries.
“The elections in Kenya or any other country is a matter of the people of that country.
“Those people are the ones who are competent in deciding what to do. Supporting Ruto, we’ll never do anything like that.
“We shall never take sides,” he stated.
Ruto has lobbied for Museveni and his National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the 2016 and 2021 presidential elections.
Partners of ODM pioneer Raila Odinga had scrutinized the relationship between Ruto and Museveni which they named as dubious.
Ruto was blocked from traveling to Uganda to meet with Museveni in a trip that was shrouded in mystery and secrecy as to the intent of the visit.
