Kamba people are not widely recognized for their love of Ugali. As a result, many individuals in the community are often seen as less enthusiastic about consuming this staple food. However, as witnessed by one of them, this stereotype should be put to rest.
This just in: an impressive Ugali eating performance was recently displayed by a young man in the Makueni constituency. He demonstrated his skills and proved why he should be awarded the top prize in an Ugali eating competition.
Last Sunday, members of a church organized an Ugali eating contest, in which Festus Wambua, a Makueni resident and new church member, participated. Although many people find it challenging to consume a large quantity of Ugali, especially with soup, Festus made it look easy with his determination and vigor, securing the win in the competition.
“Today was my first day at this church,” said the contestant. “I will be attending every Sunday, and I thank God for being the winner,” added Festus Wambua.
The Ugali eating contest is becoming increasingly popular in the country. Recently, a man from Bungoma made headlines after consuming 2kg of Ugali in just 10 minutes.
