Former State House spokesman Kanze Dena“I have no cancer”

On April 8, 2024, Kanze Dena, the former State House spokesperson, addressed rumors circulating on social media about her health, specifically dismissing claims of battling cancer.

For several days, various social media platforms, including TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, were abuzz with unfounded allegations that Kanze Dena was suffering from nasopharyngeal cancer (throat cancer). Many Kenyans, concerned by these rumors, extended their prayers and well wishes to the former Citizen TV news anchor.

Kanze Dena is renowned as a prominent Kenyan journalist and has previously held positions within the executive office of the President of the Republic of Kenya. Serving as Deputy State House Spokesperson and Deputy Head of PSCU, she was responsible for coordinating digital, messaging, research, branding, and press during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure.

Prior to her roles in government, Kanze Dena distinguished herself as a news anchor for Citizen TV, a position she held until her resignation in June 2018.
