A couple with two daughters enrolled in a private university in Nairobi experienced a shocking revelation when they discovered their girls wearing revealing outfits in a nightclub. Accompanying them were three men identified as their esteemed customers.
Reflecting on the incident, the girls’ mother recounted how it all began when her daughters, despite pursuing different courses, joined the same university with the intent of gaining knowledge. Initially, the girls would return home during breaks, but as time passed, they rarely visited, offering various excuses to avoid coming home even during school holidays.
This left the mother puzzled, prompting her to question what could be keeping them so engrossed in the city. One day, she stumbled upon a whiskey bottle but dismissed the idea that it belonged to her daughters, choosing instead to imagine it belonged to her boys who frequently partied at home.
Feeling uneasy about their daughters’ activities, the couple decided to make an impromptu visit to the city to investigate. Unfortunately, someone tipped off the girls about their parents’ arrival, leading them to switch off their phones. Despite the challenge, they eventually learned about their daughters’ relocation— the elder in Kawangware and the younger in Kangemi—from someone familiar with the girls’ behavior.
Determined to find their daughters, the couple explored various clubs during their first two days in the city with no success. Fortunately, on the third day, they discovered the girls in a nightclub, scantily clad and surrounded by men. The father, unable to bear the sight, broke down and retreated to the car.
Confronted about their behavior, the daughters appeared guilty but evaded the parents the next day, continuing their wayward lifestyle. Despite relentless efforts, the parents could not locate them. Eventually, they found the elder daughter, living with two children and a man unrelated to them. Due to their excessive drinking, the mother had to relocate the grandchildren to Kitui.
Tragically, the elder daughter was later beaten to death, allegedly for being involved with someone else’s lover. The funeral took place at home, and surprisingly, the younger daughter attended, only to leave the following day. Since then, the heartbroken mother has pleaded with her daughter to come home, but the response has been that her parents did not expose her to men at a young age. Now an adult, she expresses a desire to explore relationships freely. The mother, devastated, has exhausted every avenue, even resorting to visiting a witch doctor, but remains hopeful that her daughter will one day return home so she can guide her back onto a positive path.
