Rachel, the spouse of the renowned footballer Ezekiel Otuoma, recently took to social media to air her grievances about what she perceives as mistreatment from her in-laws.
In a heartfelt and candid TikTok live stream, Rachel accused Otuoma’s family of neglecting their son’s deteriorating health and undermining her efforts to provide him with care.
Ezekiel Otuoma battles with Motor Neurone Disease, also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a condition that progressively weakens muscles and impacts physical abilities.
Rachel’s emotional revelation brought to light the family’s alleged failure to visit their son since his illness began, leaving her to shoulder the caregiving responsibilities alone.
During the live stream, Rachel strongly denied accusations from her in-laws suggesting that she married their son for financial gain. She expressed frustration over Otuoma’s mother never visiting their home in four years and neglecting to see her son, despite his worsening health.
“For four years, Otuoma’s mother hasn’t set foot in this house, nor has she seen her own son. Yet, when I voice my concerns, I’m vilified. I’ve endured a lot because of Otuoma. Even Otuoma himself is weary,” lamented Rachel.
Rachel disclosed that she had been tirelessly caring for her husband without any support and felt unappreciated by the family.
She emphasized the lack of acknowledgment for her efforts and revealed that she had never received counseling or appreciation for her dedication.
“I’ve never been offered counseling, nor have I received a simple thank you. It’s one disrespect after another. They need to leave me alone; I’m exhausted. These people can drain you of life while you’re still breathing,” expressed Rachel with evident fatigue.
