Eric Omondi: “Ringtone Analala na Wasichana Watatu Kwa Siku”

Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi strongly criticizes former gospel artists in a recent viral video, accusing them of promoting immorality and spreading a distorted version of the gospel in the country.

Expressing his discontent in the footage circulating on social media, the renowned comedian is visibly upset by what he perceives as the unacceptable behavior of certain “former” gospel artists, some of whom he alleges are involved in homosexuality.

In his opening remarks, Omondi poses a question about the whereabouts of once-prominent figures such as Daddy Owen, Gloria Muliro, Mercy Masika, Bahati, and Guardian Angel.

According to Omondi, the gospel industry in Kenya, which was once considered the country’s musical identity, has now failed its people. He laments, “The gospel industry of Kenya was the identity of Kenyan music, and now, the industry has failed us. Former artists have all fallen,” passionately declares Eric Omondi.

Reflecting on the past, the comedian recalls the glory days of the Groove Awards, where DK Kwenye Beat played a significant role. However, he points out the irony that DK Kwenye Beat is conspicuously absent from the current scene.

Recalling the Groove Awards era, Omondi reminisces, “I remember the days of Groove Awards, the biggest awards event in East and Central Africa, and the next thing I heard was that DK Kwenye Beat had gonorrhea,” he narrates.

In the course of the video, the creator of “Wife Material” further alleges that Willy Paul is presently engaged in inappropriate activities in Umoja and is pursuing university girls.

Omondi claims that both Willy Paul and DK Kwenye Beat are involved in numerous acts of immorality while still identifying themselves as gospel artists. He expresses his frustration, saying, “The amount of sex that gospel musicians are having in Umoja and the amount of sex and fornication that DK Kwenye Beat and Willy Paul are having on a daily basis…”

Omondi recounts an encounter with Willy Paul driving a yellow Mercedes, searching for university students, all while professing to be a preacher. He asserts, “You’re a minister of the gospel, yet you’re driving around looking for university students on a Sunday.”

Eric Omondi goes on to claim intimate knowledge of Ringtone Apoko’s personal life, alleging that Apoko engages in relations with more than three girls daily. He accuses Jimmy Gait of engaging in morally questionable activities and claims that Gait sends our girls to Saudi Arabia.

In a plea to his former schoolmates Mercy Masika and Kambua, Omondi urges them to wake up from their slumber. He calls on Bahati to write an old-fashioned letter to the youth and expresses confusion over the whereabouts of Guardian Angel.

Referring to himself as the “President of Comedy,” Omondi suggests that Kenya is under attack due to the immoral actions of gospel artists behind the scenes. He boldly asserts that he can name ten individuals in the industry who are allegedly involved in homosexuality and concludes with a stern warning, “You have left God. You have left ministry. You will never prosper. Kenya as a nation is attacked because of you,” declares Omondi.
