June Onguko, a prominent name in the real estate sector, is well-known to many.Raised in Western Kenya in modest circumstances, June could hardly have imagined that she would one day achieve significant success in America, a country renowned for its opportunities.
In an interview with Chamms Media, June shared that her early life was challenging. She started various small ventures, including selling sukuma wiki and charcoal, to support herself.
After finishing primary school, she attended Lugulu Girls High School in Webuye, Bungoma County from 1992 to 1996. It was during this period that she was presented with the opportunity to further her education in the United States.
June pursued a degree in Business Management at Keller Graduate School of Management between 2011 and 2013. With her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in hand, she initially entered the corporate world but soon felt the pull of entrepreneurship.
In 2017, June founded June Properties Limited in Texas, USA. Her company is dedicated to helping Americans find their ideal homes, offering services ranging from buying and selling to investment consulting.
Her husband later joined the company, contributing his expertise in finance and management, which played a crucial role in the company’s growth.
Today, June Properties Limited successfully sells around four homes per month and assists clients with buying, selling, renting, and leasing properties.
June Onguko’s achievements extend beyond sales figures; her impact on the community is significant. She noted, “Real estate in Houston has seen substantial growth in recent years. When I began, the median house price was between Ksh 22 million and Ksh 29.3 million. Currently, it ranges from Ksh 66 million to Ksh 73.4 million,” underscoring the expansion and opportunities within the real estate market.
