DJ Joe Mfalme Lands a New Job at NRG Radio

Kenyan disc jockey, Joe Mfalme, has recently secured a new position at NRG Radio. He is set to take over the late-night show, NRG Aluta, which airs every Monday to Thursday from 10 pm. This exciting announcement was made by the DJ himself on social media.

Joe Mfalme’s journey as a professional DJ began in 2008 when he finished as the first runner-up in a DJ competition. This achievement opened doors for him, leading to numerous gigs, and eventually landing him a spot at Capital FM.

However, in 2021, just three months into his employment at Homeboyz Radio, he faced a setback when he was let go from the station. This occurred after a 12-year contract with Capital FM.

The reason behind the dismissal involved a controversy surrounding Joe Mfalme, Shaffie Weru, and Neville, who were accused by the station of endorsing sexual and gender-based violence. They were criticized for victim-shaming a lady who had been thrown off the 12th floor of Ambank House by a man she met on Facebook. This incident sparked public outrage, ultimately leading to their termination.

Shaffie Weru later mentioned in an interview that there were more complex underlying issues beyond their comments, implying that the situation was more complicated.

Despite this rough patch, Joe Mfalme’s supporters have rallied around him, congratulating him on his new role at NRG Radio. He is grateful for the overwhelming support he has received during this time.
