Content creator Carrol Sonnie recently shared her emotional journey of raising her daughter, Keilah, who bears a striking resemblance to her estranged father, Mulamwah. During a question and answer session on her YouTube channel, Sonnie addressed the challenges she has faced in raising her daughter.
Highlighting that she has not received any support from Mulamwah in raising Keila, Sonnie emphasized that her parents are the only ones assisting her in the upbringing of her daughter. Despite the absence of Mulamwah, Sonnie finds solace in the fact that Keila’s face resembles that of her estranged father, even though he has rejected her.
In response to a question about the main challenges she faces in raising her daughter, Sonnie shared the emotional struggle of raising a child who has been rejected by their father, especially when the child bears a strong resemblance to the absent parent. She acknowledged the difficulty but encouraged fellow mothers, stating, “What do you do in such a situation? You encourage yourself and move forward no matter what.”
Sonnie also disclosed that she has moved on with her life, having a boyfriend after the breakup with Mulamwah. Despite the separation, she made it clear that she has nothing to do with Mulamwah because he rejected their daughter. Sonnie mentioned that she has removed Mulamwah’s name from Keila’s birth certificate and provided the new names – Keila Khoe Wangui Muthoni – as evidence that Mulamwah is not involved in their lives.
Looking ahead, Sonnie expressed confidence that when she decides to introduce her current partner to the world, it will be a significant event. Despite the challenges, she remains focused on providing the best upbringing for her daughter, Keila.
