‎“A Whole Generation Wiped Out: 13 Members of One Family Killed in Nakuru Accident”

‎The village of Kahiga in Kandara Constituency has been thrown into mourning following a heartbreaking tragedy that claimed the lives of 13 members of one family. The victims perished in a grisly road accident at Kariandusi, near Kikopey, along the busy Nakuru Highway yesterday.

‎The ill-fated journey began with joy and anticipation as the family travelled to Rongai to attend a long-awaited function. Packed into the vehicle, they laughed, chatted, and looked forward to reuniting with loved ones. None of them knew that it would be their final trip together.

‎According to reports, the accident occurred when their vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming truck, leaving no chance of survival for those inside. Witnesses described the scene as horrific, with twisted metal and shattered glass scattered across the road. Emergency responders could only confirm the worst—every passenger in the family vehicle, including the driver, had died on the spot.

‎Among the victims was a man, his wife, and their five children whose bright futures were cruelly cut short. Another woman and her two daughters were also among the dead, leaving behind a community struggling to comprehend the scale of the loss. For the surviving relatives, the grief is almost unbearable. One family elder, barely able to speak through tears, lamented, “We have lost a whole generation in a single day. The pain is too much to carry.”

‎The tragedy has not only shattered the Mburu family but also sent shockwaves through Kahiga Village and the wider Kandara Constituency. Neighbours have flocked to the homestead to comfort the bereaved, while leaders have called for urgent measures to improve road safety along the notorious Nakuru Highway, which has claimed many lives in recent years.

‎As funeral arrangements begin, the mood in the village remains heavy. The sound of wailing women fills the air, children cling to their mothers in confusion, and men sit silently, staring into the distance. What was once a vibrant family has been reduced to a heartbreaking memory.

‎This accident serves as a grim reminder of how fragile life is and how one moment on the road can wipe away years of love, hope, and dreams. For the Mburu family, nothing will ever be the same again.
