Kamene Goro: DJ Bonez showered me, clothed me for 2 months after my surgery

Media personality Kamene Goro expresses profound gratitude to her husband, DJ Bonez (real name David Kamau), for his unwavering support during her post-surgery recovery.

In January of this year, Kamene underwent knee surgery at Karen Hospital in Nairobi due to a torn meniscus. Reflecting on the experience, she shared her initial anxieties about the procedure, particularly the anesthesia. She noted that while she had not been anxious about anesthesia in previous surgeries, this time was different. Her main concern was the recovery process, which she anticipated would be more challenging than the surgery itself.

In a heartfelt conversation on TV47’s ‘Love In The Wild’ with celebrities Size 8 and DJ Mo, Kamene recounted how her husband provided relentless care throughout her recovery. She highlighted how many people tend to vanish when one falls ill, but her husband was different. He assisted her with everything, from undressing and bathing to dressing her up every single day.

Despite DJ Bonez’s demanding career as an entertainer, he made it a priority to ensure Kamene’s comfort during her immobile phase. “He would tell me what we were eating for the day, give me my medication, and constantly check on my well-being,” she said. “My family was very supportive, but he was there every single day without fail.”

The recovery period was particularly grueling, with Kamene experiencing frequent nighttime fevers due to pain. During these times, DJ Bonez would try to lower her temperature with a towel or call a doctor to attend to her, demonstrating his dedication and care.

This challenging period also revealed the true nature of her relationships. Kamene realized who her real friends were and who was merely interested in her because of her fame. “When I was at the top, everyone wanted to be involved in my life, but when things got tough, people disappeared. Now, there’s no doubt that my husband loves me. He cared for me with so much love and never once complained.”

By the end of March, Kamene had begun walking again and has since resumed her normal activities.
