Stevo Simple Boy, one of Kenya’s most celebrated musicians, recently opened up about some lesser-known aspects of his life. In a candid interview with SPM Buzz, he shared details about his background that many may not be familiar with.
Stevo revealed that his full name is Steven Adera, and he is originally from the Oyugis area in Siaya County. Although he was born and raised there, he moved to Nairobi while in Class Seven, where he completed his KCPE in a city school.
After finishing Class 8, Stevo decided to drop out of school and pursue a different path—focusing on hustling while nurturing his musical talent. This decision eventually paid off when his music career took off in 2019.
Like many children, Stevo had aspirations when he was young. Despite being a slow learner in school, he managed to score 240 marks out of 500 in his KCPE exams—an achievement that was nearly average for him. His childhood dream was to become a doctor, a goal he may still work towards in the future.
At 33 years old, Stevo has plenty of time to revisit this dream. If he chooses to return to school, complete his KCSE, and pursue a medical degree, he could still achieve his childhood ambition. The door is not closed for him to become a doctor, as long as he dedicates himself to his studies and focuses on this new goal.
