Sleuths in Kakamega have arrested two women who are said to have stolen a newborn baby.
It is reported that the 47 and 62-year-old stole the infant and altered its birth notification details as the infants mother was fighting for her life in the labour ward.
It is also said that one of the suspects husband got curious after his wife returned home carrying an infant who she couldn’t breastfeed.
He knowing that he had not made his wife pregnant notified detectives who acted swiftly and arrested the lady.
Upon interrogations, detectives were led to the second woman and it was established that the two had stolen a baby belonging to a 17-year-old girl who has been living with her grandmother at Vihiga, Kaimoisi area.
