A woman, claiming to be the firstborn daughter of Pastor Ng’ang’a, has recently come forward. Naomi Wangari Maina, in an interview with local news, shared her experience of meeting him for the first time, revealing that he did not raise her.
“I recently got to know him as a grown-up. We connected because he actively sought me out. We now live as father and daughter, respecting each other,” she stated.
Naomi, raised by a stepfather, recounted a challenging upbringing in a village plagued by jigger infestations and wearing torn clothes. Her awareness of her biological father came from a relative who encouraged her to seek him out.
“She told me about my father, and she’s the one who motivated me to look for him,” Naomi explained.
In turn, Pastor Ng’ang’a was also on a quest to find her. Organizing a crusade in Kinangop, where he previously worked as a herdsman, he reached out to everyone to obtain her contact information.
“He called me, and at first, I thought it was a scam. I hung up, not believing that someone I used to attend crusades was calling me. When he called back and mentioned specific details, I began to connect the dots,” Naomi revealed.
Despite initial hesitation and fears, Naomi eventually met her father the following day. She described the encounter as overwhelmingly joyous, akin to meeting God.
Amidst this newfound connection, Naomi shared the challenges her family faces, particularly with her son Jonathan battling eye cancer. She addressed the irony of her father, a renowned healer, not being able to pray for her son, leading some to label her as cursed.
Choosing not to succumb to bitterness, Naomi emphasized her reliance on God and discouraged making a spectacle out of her family’s situation. She urged people to focus on the broader issue of her son’s health rather than sensationalizing the connection to her famous father.
