Andrew Kibe, the controversial Kenyan-US-based Vlogger, has arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and opted not to engage with journalists.
Earlier this week, the outspoken Vlogger had announced his return to his homeland after an extended stay in the United States.
On Friday evening, Kibe, donned in a scarf, black eyeglasses, and a kanzu, was warmly welcomed by fellow Kenyans at JKIA. A video shared by Mideyah Digital Media captured the celebratory atmosphere among Kenyans upon his arrival.
As journalists jostled for space and aimed their cameras at Kibe, sections of the crowd were overheard mimicking his distinctive voice. Shouts of “Kife! Kife!” and “We Kinuthia, come here!” echoed through the airport as citizens playfully imitated the Vlogger on camera.
The audacious Vlogger returned to Kenya amid speculations that he may face repercussions for his unapologetic commentary on societal issues. In an interview earlier in the week, Kibe asserted his fearlessness, emphasizing that Kenya is his country, and he has no reason to be apprehensive.
“Bro, Kenya is my country; why should I fear? When I left, I didn’t inform anyone. Why should I announce my return? It’s like I went on holiday; Kenya is my country,” he confidently stated.
Kibe had relocated to the United States in 2021 after resigning from his radio position at Kiss 100, where he co-hosted a morning show with Kamene Goro.
