“Wewe mzee sikujui potelea mbali, uko na njaa nikununulie chakula,”Peter Salasia to Kikuyu Man Claiming to Be His Father

‎

‎Kenyan politician and Member of Parliament Peter Salasia has delivered a scathing response to a man from the Kikuyu community who recently surfaced, claiming to be his biological father. The MP, known for his outspoken and often humorous remarks, made it clear that he would not entertain such claims, especially from someone he says abandoned him at birth.

‎Speaking with evident frustration, Salasia dismissed the man’s assertions in no uncertain terms.

‎> “Wewe mzee sikujui potelea mbali. Kama uko na njaa sema nikununulie chakula, lakini usijaribu kusema mimi ni mtoto wako. Mimi kama Ezemor ni Mluhya original na mjukuu wa Wanga. Hata ungekuwa baba yangu singekuangalia mara mbili sababu umekuwa wapi hiyo miaka yote kama unasema uliniacha nikiwa na miezi tatu. Kama singekuwa MP haungewahi nitafuta, wacha mchezo mzee!”

‎According to Salasia, the man’s sudden appearance is suspicious, particularly because it comes after he rose to political prominence. He questioned why the alleged father had never made an effort to contact him earlier, especially during his difficult upbringing.

‎The MP’s blunt remarks have ignited a heated conversation among Kenyans, with some sympathizing with him for speaking his truth, while others feel the matter could have been handled privately. The incident has also highlighted the emotional wounds that can linger from childhood abandonment and the complex dynamics that emerge when estranged relatives reappear after years of absence.

‎For now, Salasia remains firm in his stance, insisting that titles like “father” must be earned through presence, care, and responsibility — not claimed decades later when success is already in hand.
