Popular Kenyan media personality Dr. Ofweneke has publicly shared the challenges that led to the end of his second marriage. Speaking during his show on Radio 47, the comedian and TV host revealed that his past lifestyle choices played a major role in the breakup.
Ofweneke admitted that frequent alcohol consumption and not being fully present at home contributed to the difficulties in the relationship. “My second marriage didn’t work because of alcohol. I was drinking a lot and not spending enough time with my wife,” he said.
He took responsibility for his actions and encouraged other men to do the same. Ofweneke urged fellow men to stop shifting blame and instead reflect on their own roles in failed relationships. “We must stop walking around with broken families without addressing the real issues,” he said.
He also described how even small disagreements at home would often lead him to spend time outside instead of resolving matters. According to him, the situation became worse when both partners started facing similar struggles, making it harder to communicate effectively.
Despite the challenges, Ofweneke made it clear that he doesn’t hold grudges and acknowledges that both he and his former partner made mistakes. “I am not perfect. I accept my part in what went wrong,” he added.
His message was a call to action for men to embrace accountability and personal growth. “Let’s stop hiding the truth. Once you admit your mistakes, healing begins,” he advised.
In conclusion, he encouraged men to change harmful habits and seek better ways to build stronger relationships. “There’s no reason for a man to drink every day — it’s not right,” he said.
