Shorn Arwa, “My Nigerian Husband Gave me Ksh 100K For Matatu Ride in kenya”

Kenyan content creator Shorn Arwa, who is based in the UK, recently fulfilled a long-standing desire to experience a matatu ride in Kenya. Having booked a flight from London to Kenya specifically for this purpose, she expressed her excitement about the upcoming adventure.

In a message shared on her Instagram story, Arwa mentioned that it had been a decade since she last boarded a matatu, and the inspiration for her craving came from observing the beautiful matatus in Kenya showcased on TikTok.

“I instantly started craving a matatu ride. It’s been almost 10 years, manze,” she remarked.

Days later, Shorn Arwa satisfied her craving by partaking in the awaited matatu experience. She playfully shared a video on social media, swinging by the door like a clippie, calling for passengers to board.

“Matatu cravings have been dealt with, innit? Now, what should I do? Book a flight back to London or chill?” she captioned the video.

In a recent interview, the mother of one revealed that her Nigerian husband, currently in London, was unaware of the cost associated with boarding a matatu. Being a supportive partner, he sent her Ksh 100,000 to facilitate the experience.

After enjoying the matatu ride, which only cost Ksh 500 in bus fare, Arwa surprised the matatu crew by generously paying Ksh 10,000. She emphasized that she earns her own money and views her husband’s financial support as a bonus. Arwa clarified that she isn’t bragging about her wealth but simply enjoying the positive changes in her life. Reflecting on her past, she shared that there were days when she lived in the ghetto, expressing gratitude for her current circumstances that allow her to afford flights and embrace a more comfortable lifestyle.
