Police in Siaya County are currently conducting investigations into the death of a 50-year-old man discovered deceased within his residence in Ugunja.
Siaya County Police Commander, Cleti Kimaiyo, confirmed the incident, stating that Samuel Karume’s body was found on Tuesday night at his home situated in West Uholo location.
Preliminary inquiries suggest that the circumstances surrounding his death are ambiguous.
Kimaiyo revealed that the occurrence was reported to the Ugunja police station by the deceased’s wife, Josephine Achieng.
“The report was made by his wife, who indicated that her husband returned home from Kisumu complaining of feeling unwell,” said Kimaiyo. “She informed the police that the deceased had recently received treatment for malaria and had retired to bed, only to experience difficulty in breathing.”
According to Kimaiyo, the wife sought assistance from neighbors after discovering her husband’s condition deteriorating. However, upon their return, they found him deceased.
Subsequently, the body was transferred to Rang’ala Mission Hospital Mortuary, awaiting further examination through a postmortem procedure.
