“She gave me fare on our 1st date” – Radio Presenter Mbusii Praises his Wife

Renowned Radio Jambo host, Daniel Githinji Mwangi, popularly known by his stage name Mbusi, recently opened up about previously undisclosed aspects of his professional journey and family life during an episode of the Churchill Show’s Journey Series.

Mbusi disclosed that his roots trace back to Korogocho (Koch), where he was both born and raised. His high school years unfolded in Eastleigh, providing a glimpse into the foundational years of his life.

Delving into his marital experiences, the father of three recounted how he first crossed paths with his wife during their involvement in acting set-books. At that time, she was in form three. However, life took them on separate paths after high school, with his wife spending three years in Uganda while Mbusi navigated the challenges of the Kenya National Theatre.

“I met my wife while acting set-books, but after she completed school, she went to Uganda for three years,” Mbusi revealed. It wasn’t until later that they reconnected, and at that time, Mbusi found himself facing financial difficulties.

“She even provided me with transport. If you want her, be honest with her. I told her about my humble living conditions in Koch – a mabati house. Despite the challenges, she became pregnant, and we managed to weather the storm together. She chose to leave her home and

reside with me,” Mbusi candidly shared.

Reflecting on their journey, Mbusi recounted the initial struggles and the unique circumstances surrounding their relationship. “After securing a job, I was able to contribute to her education, and she went back to school,” he shared. The path to education wasn’t without its complications, as he humorously added, “Her parents came to Koch and reported me to the police, alleging that I had abducted their daughter.”

Yet, Mbusi emphasized that their connection was rooted in genuine love. Despite the challenges, their commitment to each other prevailed. Mbusi’s revelations shed light on the resilience and enduring nature of their relationship, ultimately highlighting the transformative power of love amidst life’s trials.
