President Ruto orders investigation into Hillside Endarasha school fire tragedy

President William Ruto has directed security agencies to expedite the investigation into the recent fire tragedy at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri County, which resulted in the deaths of 17 students.

He also instructed the Ministry of Interior and Coordination to mobilize resources to support the affected families.

In his statement, President Ruto vowed that strict measures would be taken against those responsible for the incident. He expressed profound sorrow for the families affected and reassured them of the government’s unwavering support.

“The government will ensure a thorough investigation into the incident, and those responsible will be held accountable,” Ruto declared. The Ministry of Interior and Coordination is currently working to provide the necessary assistance to the grieving families.

“Our thoughts are with the bereaved families, and we pray for the swift recovery of the survivors,” he added.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also extended his condolences and urged for the speedy recovery of the injured students.

“May the families find strength during this challenging time. It is essential for schools to adhere to the safety protocols recommended by the Ministry of Education and other relevant authorities to prevent such tragedies,” Gachagua emphasized.

“Our hearts are with the families, the school, and the nation as we mourn the loss of these young lives,” he added.
