Pastor Ezekiel’s Mega Crusade Canceled Once Again

In a surprising turn of events, the highly anticipated mega crusades led by Pastor Ezekiel Odero in Kilifi have faced an abrupt cancellation by the police for the second time in just a fortnight.

Pastor Ezekiel Odero, a charismatic preacher with a significant following, had been scheduled to preside over the ‘Kilifi Revival Crusade’ from September 27th to October 1st. However, the law enforcement authorities insisted that he had not submitted the necessary notice within the stipulated timeframe, resulting in the initial postponement.

Despite this setback, Pastor Ezekiel and his devoted followers continued their mission of goodwill by distributing food to congregants even after the initial cancellation. Their unwavering determination, however, faced disappointment on October 4th when local authorities once again put a halt to their plans. Kilifi North Sub County Police Commander, Kenneth Maina, officially communicated the cancellation, citing undisclosed security concerns.

Even after discussions with Pastor Ezekiel’s legal representative, the event was declared illegal, rendering any attempt to proceed with it a violation of the law.

This incident is not an isolated one, but rather part of a recurring pattern in Pastor Ezekiel Odero’s endeavors. Earlier in the year, similar disruptions were witnessed during his crusades in Machakos.

These mysterious cancellations have left both his followers and the general public bewildered, raising questions about the challenges and complexities of organizing religious gatherings in contemporary Kenya.
