Zichune crooner Otile Brown has finally spoken up about being excluded from Coke Studio Africa alongside other highly talented musicians, in favor of rapper Khaligraph Jones and singer Nikita Kering’.
A concerned fan took to social media to question Coke Studio’s selection process, urging them to reconsider their choices and include deserving talents.
In response to the fan’s query, Otile Brown shed light on his past interactions with Coke Studio. He calmly explained that while they have approached him for various projects before, they have never been able to collaborate due to financial constraints. Otile Brown stated that the inability to meet his fees was one of the reasons he was left out of this year’s edition.
Recently, Coke Studio unveiled Khaligraph Jones and Nikita Kering’ as Kenya’s representatives for the show. However, their selection was met with criticism from many Kenyans who believed there were other artists, including Willy Paul and Scar Mkadinali, who would have represented the country better.
These sentiments were echoed by numerous music enthusiasts who firmly believed that artists like Otile Brown and Willy Paul would have been the ideal choices to represent Kenya.
