Nadia Mukami has captured the public’s attention by openly requesting financial support from her child’s father, Arrow Bwoy. Nadia’s appeal is grounded in her need for financial aid to raise their child, Kai, and the lingering issue of unpaid dowry.
Upon her return to Kenya from the United States, Nadia held a press conference to shed light on her motivations for seeking child support from Arrow Bwoy. She candidly discussed the challenges she had faced while he was on tour, which had left her as the sole caregiver for their son.
“I believe I’m entitled to an allowance because he has been on tour. He went to Australia when our baby was just six weeks old and was away for two months. So, he should contribute to cover the expenses I incurred during that time,” Nadia expressed.
Financial support is not the sole cause of concern in their relationship. Nadia also desires formal recognition as Arrow Bwoy’s wife, a status that has yet to be formalized through the customary payment of dowry.
“He has not fulfilled the dowry payment yet. So, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to claim the status of a wife without it being official. Arrow Bwoy understands that this is not a malicious request, and he’s well aware that I’ve been stressing this point,” Nadia clarified.
Originally, the couple had intended to hold a traditional ceremony, but those plans fell through. Nadia recognizes that pressuring a man into such matters can be detrimental and potentially harm the relationship. She added, “Ultimately, the decision lies with him. You can’t force a man into these things. It would feel unnatural and odd.”
Nadia was quick to emphasize that her statements are not meant to be disrespectful but rather to draw attention to unresolved issues within their relationship. She stressed, “It’s just the truth. Even Arrow Bwoy acknowledges this, and he’s not upset. I know my partner well, and there’s nothing he’s ever said about me that has offended me.”
