In recent times, there has been a notable conflict involving the popular artist known for his hit “mihadarati” as he found himself at odds with his former management. The root of this conflict emerged when his wife expressed concerns about their dire living conditions.
According to his wife, Stivo and his partner had been enduring days without access to sufficient food, a matter that deeply resonated with the Kenyan public. Responding swiftly to this distressing situation, numerous kind-hearted individuals came forward to provide support. Consequently, Stivo was relocated to a new residence and supplied with essential household items to assist him in rebuilding his life.
Mumias East, a dedicated member of parliament, extended his benevolence by covering Stivo’s rent and even pledged to facilitate the construction of a house in Stivo’s hometown.
However, the management team at MIB (Men in Business) contested these claims and promptly terminated Stivo’s contract. This abrupt decision left Stivo with no recourse but to embark on a journey of rebuilding his career from the ground up.
Stivo himself has reported that the management has refused to relinquish control of his social media accounts. This predicament has significantly hindered his ability to effectively promote his new musical releases, as he lacks the platforms necessary to share his work. “I have new music to share, but I lack the means to post it,” Stivo articulated.
In an effort to address this matter, Stivo has even raised the possibility of pursuing legal action should the management fail to comply with his requests to regain control of his social media accounts.
This isn’t the first time Stivo has found himself embroiled in such contentious disputes with his former superiors. He previously encountered a similar disagreement with his Kibra management a few years back, where he encountered resistance in obtaining ownership of his social media handles, ultimately compelling him to start anew.
Despite these challenges, Stivo remains resolute in his belief that his career is poised for greatness. He holds a firm aspiration to revitalize his artistic brand and make significant strides within the music industry by the close of 2023.
