“Nairobi’s drainage is a problem inherited from past presidents particulary Uhuru Kenyatta. President Ruto and Governor Sakaja will address it ” Peter Kaluma

Peter Kaluma has said the persistent flooding in Nairobi is largely a problem inherited from previous administrations.

Commenting on the ongoing debate about floods in the city, Kaluma pointed to the tenure of former president Uhuru Kenyatta as the period when the drainage challenges worsened.

According to him, the current leadership is working on a solution through cooperation between the national and county governments. He noted that President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja plan to tackle the drainage problem through the recently signed National Government–Nairobi County cooperation arrangement.

Kaluma expressed confidence that the partnership will help address long-standing infrastructure challenges in the capital, including improving drainage systems to reduce flooding during heavy rains.
