Mungai Eve: ‘Nitakufa before accomplishing my dreams if I got employed’

During a recent interview on NTV’s Weekend Edition with Dr. Kingori, content creator Mungai Eve made a strong statement asserting that she had no intention of pursuing traditional employment, as she believed it would hinder her from achieving her dreams.

The 23-year-old journalist expressed her conviction that her true path did not involve conventional employment, as she firmly believed it would diminish her sense of self-worth and obstruct her pursuit of her goals.

Mungai is resolute in her dedication to content creation, firmly believing that her passion and talents are best suited for entrepreneurship and self-employment. She boldly stated, “First and foremost, I recognize my own value. Secondly, I have a multitude of goals that I feel I might never achieve if I were to be employed. Employment is not my calling!” in her conversation with Dr. Kingori.

However, despite her current stance on employment, the popular content creator candidly admitted that during her earlier years, she had aspired to pursue a career as an employee. She explained, “Growing up, I thought I would complete my high school education, attend university, excel academically, secure a job at NTV, and become a news anchor.”

Mungai’s comments have elicited mixed reactions from the public, with some criticizing her for appearing overly proud and unrealistic, while others commend her for making a bold decision at her age. Her assertion that employment would prevent her from ever realizing her dreams has ignited a debate on the merits of traditional employment versus entrepreneurship.

Mungai also shed light on her financial habits during the interview, confessing to being frugal with her money, which has strained some of her friendships. She stated, “Perhaps my former friends now consider me their enemy because when they ask for financial assistance, they assume I can’t refuse. I tell them I have money but it’s not for giving away.” She added, “Help yourself before helping others.”

Despite facing setbacks, Mungai has succeeded in establishing a thriving career in content creation. She has openly discussed her decision to drop out of college due to financial constraints. Nonetheless, her unwavering commitment to content creation has garnered her a substantial following on social media, boasting over 700,000 YouTube subscribers and 540,000 Instagram followers.

Her achievements serve as a testament to the power of persistence and determination in the pursuit of one’s aspirations.
