Moses Kajwang tells Kalonzo-Sisi ODM hatuna ubaya na Kalonzo, but we fear the friends that he keeps. We will never sail in the same boat with a man who attempted to kill Raila in broad daylight.

Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang has stirred political debate after issuing a sharp warning to Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, insisting that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has no personal conflict with him — but is deeply concerned about the company he keeps.

Kajwang said ODM respects Kalonzo as a long-time ally, but the party cannot align itself with individuals he associates with, especially those accused of plotting political harm against Raila Odinga in the past. Speaking during a public event, Kajwang declared that ODM would “never sail in the same boat with a man who attempted to kill Raila in broad daylight.”

Although he did not name the individual directly, Kajwang’s comments fueled speculation within political circles, with many interpreting the remarks as a veiled attack on specific powerful figures rumored to be influencing Kalonzo’s 2027 strategy.

Kajwang emphasized that ODM’s caution is not a rejection of Kalonzo, but a matter of principle and historical memory. He said the party cannot overlook past betrayals and alleged threats on Raila’s life, stressing that ODM must protect its political legacy and the safety of its leadership.

Kalonzo’s camp has yet to issue an official response, but allies close to him argue that such statements are unnecessary and risk derailing unity efforts ahead of the 2027 elections. They insist that Kalonzo’s alliances are strategic, and that no one should dictate who he can or cannot work with.

Kajwang’s remarks add a new layer of tension within the opposition coalition, signaling deep mistrust and unresolved grievances as political realignments continue to shape the road to 2027.
