Meet the little-known Man behind Quiver Nightclub Empire

In recent years, Quiver Lounge has emerged as a dominant force in Nairobi’s nightlife, solidifying its position as one of the largest nightclub chains in Kenya.

Originating from the first branch along Thika Road, the venue garnered significant attention from revelers in the Nairobi metropolitan area, paving the way for the expansion of the business into multiple counties.

Presently, Quiver Lounge has established a presence in Kilimani, Kenol, Kitengela, and Thika Road, each boasting a spacious and modern design to provide an upscale party experience.

What sets Quiver Lounge apart from its competitors is not only its popularity among leisure seekers but also its appeal to celebrities and prominent figures. Renowned personalities like American rapper Fabolous have graced the Kilimani branch, leaving an enduring impact on the city’s social scene. Even political heavyweights, including President William Ruto, were drawn to the Thika Road branch during the 2022 General Elections campaigns, transforming it into one of the city’s premier party destinations.

Behind the success of Quiver Lounge is the enigmatic figure of Peter Mbugua, a wealthy businessman who, despite maintaining a low public profile, entered the spotlight in a unique way. In the previous year, shortly after the grand opening of the Kenol branch, a viral video depicted priests seemingly blessing the nightclub.

As the story unfolded, it became clear that the religious figures were offering prayers not only for the nightclub but for the entire mall housing it and all the businesses within its walls.

In a rare public statement, Mbugua addressed the unconventional incident. He clarified that the mall, including Quiver Lounge, was being dedicated to God, following a customary practice for business challenges. Mbugua emphasized that the risks associated with the nightclub business, such as violence, fires, and stampedes, justified seeking divine protection.

According to Mbugua, nightclubs face various risks, including incidents involving violence, fires in the kitchens, and stampedes. Seeking divine protection is a way to mitigate these risks. Moreover, Mbugua revealed that a significant portion of Quiver Lounge’s profits goes into the coffers of the church, creating a unique and somewhat unconventional partnership between the secular and the sacred—a nightclub thriving while contributing to the spiritual realm.
